make a distinction between two different mindsets that are in
play at this time on Planet Earth. This distinction was made for me
years ago while reading
Shakti Gawain's
book Return to the Garden. A great book! I am speaking now
about the difference between the words "transcendence" and
"transformation."
The
former term alludes to (nearly) everyone's fantasy of throwing off
these shackles of 3D Limitation and moving beyond the physical into
various levels of conscious mastery. That's what it means to
transcend. It means "to go beyond." In order to create reality in
this way, a person must be in a Separation Mindset. After all, you
can't leave something behind unless you no longer believe that it's
you.
In contrast,
our usage of the term "transformation" allows our definition of
"self" to continue to be seated in physicality, while taking our
personal reality to new levels of appearance and function.
Explaining this in more of an automotive jargon: Instead of selling
or discarding your old car, you decide to rebuild it from the ground
up.
The idea of
transcendence is the heart of Old Paradigm Metaphysics. Remember
those days back in the 70s and 80s? Workshop after workshop, seminar
after seminar on topics such as prosperity, fame, mastery, and
manifestation. We wanted to become the Sorcerer's Apprentice, didn't
we? We longed for power, and we wanted to operate that power from
within our ego aspect.
New Paradigm
Metaphysics grows out of two complementary concepts:
Universal Oneness
and Multidimensionality. We are all part of the same One Being. And,
within each 3D universe, that Being chooses to fragment,
and
manifest Him/Her/Itself in a multitude of ways. When a person
appears to "depart" from one universe and travel to another, he
doesn't really GO anywhere. He simply expands his focus from a small
story defininition of self to a larger view. His consciousness
becomes "federalized." This mass integration is the essence of what
we call Transformation.
Movement from State to State
To define oneself "regionally" places a stronger emphasis on a
single, solidified, physical body - operating within a set context
of time and space. To be considered a Californian, for example, a
person has to own a primary residence in California. Yet California
is also part of a union, which is called the United States
of America. Someone whose primary residence is in Massachusetts can
consider himself "one" with someone living in California by virtue
of the fact that both are Americans. This would also be true of the
distinction between regional and local consciousness, or the
relationship of states to cities.
In Old
Paradigm Metaphysics, the determining factor of who, what, or where
we are begins and ends with the ego. Exactly where does our 3D body
reside, and what is it doing in that location on the planet? What do
we own? What can we control? Who is it that calls us "master?"
New Paradigm
Consciousness moves freely from city to city, state to state. It
requires no passport, because it clearly belongs to every state that
it's in. No one calls us anything, because we're everything. To say
that we "transcend" something means we move from 'here' to 'there'
(two separate points). To say that we "transform" means that we
remain 'here' while inviting some of 'there' to come merge with us.
What is the
shortest way to get from point A to point B in physical space? As
the crow flies? Well, yes, that would nice. But there is an even
shorter way to move around than that. We simply redefine
point A as point B, and vice versa. No muss, no fuss. No traveling
from 'here' to 'there.' In fact, the whole essence of change becomes
perceptual.
In
the New Paradigm, we are more than a body. We are an entire
viewpoint. Manifestation is part of that, but only a small part.
That which manifests as "physical" can only do so by slowing down
its vibration to a point where it freezes and becomes solid. An
example of this can be seen in the process of vapor becoming water
and water becoming ice. All three "states" of being are the same one
thing, yet each vibrates at a different speed.
As I have
mentioned in a few of my other series, the 3D Design Template is
built upon a concept called I AM. In 3D, a person is, or,
perhaps, he was, or he will be. Each level of
being is considered separate from the others, and it manifests in
separate space. A veil is placed there, in consciousness - a stage
curtain, if you will - so that one play does not interrupt another
play that may be going on in the same theater.
The 4D
Design Template is built upon a higher, lighter concept. Instead of
saying I AM this or I AM that, we say Suppose I were. Let's
do that shall we? Let's say that right now. You are sitting at home,
in front of your computer, reading an article. Now, suppose you
were aboard a sailing ship, speeding across the Atlantic Ocean.
What
just happened? Did you get a picture in your mind of the wind, the
water, or billowing sails... visible in a cool blue sky?
Now, from
your seat, back in front of that computer, suppose you are
on a ship, speeding across the Atlantic, in the year 1840. What
happened now? Did your sailing vessel change into a galleon? And if
so, how did that happen? You utilized a faculty of "inner
perception" which, in 3D, is called imagination. In 4D,
however, the separation between "inner" and "outer" perception is
removed. Point A becomes point B in an instant... in the twinkling
of an eye.
In the
Fourth Dimension, thinking is actually doing. In 3D, there is the
appearance of time to plan and ponder. Time adds
compartmentalization to the comings and goings of less solidified
space. It enables us to say: Hey, wait a minute! Stop!
Meanwhile, the comings and goings continue, while our 3D self sits
along the side of the road and looks at the map.
