A nurse took the tired, anxious serviceman
to the bedside.
'Your son is here,' she said to the old man.
She had to repeat the words several times before the
patient's eyes opened..
Heavily sedated because of the pain of his heart
the old man dimly saw the young uniformed Marine
standing outside
his oxygen tent.
He reached out his hand.
The Marine wrapped his
toughened fingers around the old man's
limp ones, squeezing a
message of
love and encouragement.
The nurse brought a chair so that the Marine
could sit beside the bed.
All through the night
the young Marine sat there in
the poorly lighted ward, holding the old
man's hand and offering
him words of love and strength
Occasionally, the
nurse suggested that the Marine move away
and rest awhile.
He refused.
Whenever the nurse came into
the ward, the Marine was oblivious of her
and of the night noises of the hospital -
the clanking of the oxygen tank,
the laughter of the night staff members exchanging greetings,
the cries and moans of the other patients.
Now and then she heard him say a few gentle words. The
dying man said nothing, only held tightly to his son all
through the night.
Along towards dawn, the old man died. The Marine released
the now lifeless hand he had been holding and went to tell
the nurse.
While she did what she
had to do, he waited.
Finally, she returned.
She started to speak words of sympathy,
but the Marine interrupted her.
'Who was that man?' he asked.
The nurse was startled,
'He was your father,' she answered.
'No, he wasn't,' the Marine replied.
'I never saw him before in my life.'
'Then why didn't you say something when I took you
to him?'
'I knew right away there had been a mistake,
but I also knew he needed his son, and his
son just wasn't here.
When I realized that he was too sick to tell
whether or not I was his son,
knowing how much he needed me, I stayed.'
The next time someone needs you ... just be there.

George Carlin's New "Sorta-Biography":
"Last Words"
It was begun before George Carlin breathed his last breath. Now it's complete. A new rendition of the genius comedian's life, upbringing, struggles, pitfalls, and mountain peaks experiences. It's called "Last Words," and we are all waiting to hear them! I remember watching in awe as Carlin unmuzzled his wisdom in his stand-up "Jammin' in New York." And I can't wait to hear what he has to say from his current side of the grave. Co-authored by comedian Tony Hendra, "Last Words" features a number of interviews with the Wry and Wise One---pony-tail and all. Due for publication later this month (November).
IS RECOVERY AT HAND?
It's beginning to appear like the American Economy is starting to turn back around. It's only when the "haves" are totally secure that they'll continue to "have" that they'll give some "have-nots" a chance to get a little too. This is how things appear when you look at them purely from a physical viewpoint. From a spirit viewpoint, everything is going down exactly as it should be. We each create our own reality. This last year has been about shock, change, and reaffirmation of personal values. What do we REALLY need? What can we do without? When all is said and done, what parts of our lives have the strength and relevance to endure, no matter what?
Could it be possible that this recent "collapse" of security, at this period of history, is no mere accident? Indeed, there are plenty who speculate that some "Dark Government Conspiracy" is behind what is going on in the Stock Market, the Federal Reserve, and in our Agencies of Intelligence. But WHO is behind that (supposed) plot? It is possible that WE......all of us, together, as ONE........are co-creating this Grand Shifting of Values? Furthermore, is it possible that there are NO CULPRITS here at all?
Let's look at the dates involved, shall we? It was quoted recently that the last, great "depression like" Stock Crash was in the year 1987. Was anything else significant going on that year? Oh yeah. The Harmonic Convergence. The beginning of this current "cycle" of Planetary Awakening. As was suggested in my series "Timeline for Transformation," The Reconnections named the year 2008 as our year for the Awakening of the Planetary Oneself.
Though many Channels and Prophets have made forecasts of doom, gloom, and various forms of collective calamity---as our Time of Planetary Ascension draws near---there are many of us who hold the tone for a kinder, gentler transition. Like skilled magicians, snatching the cloth away from a fully loaded dinner table, our focus of intention is to "keep the flowers standing" and to let our fine china remain in tact.
The Wall Street "Geniuses" and Pork-Bellied Politicians who are purported to have gotten us into our current financial mess are no less foolish that the above-mentioned magician, seeking to defy gravity by putting his table settings at risk. The "snatching away" of the Collective Table Cloth is still underway. Certain Individuals and Businesses are waving goodbye to their "security," but society (as a Whole) still remains in tact. The RUSH of Planetary Awakening is happening, all over the globe. The "sleeper" awakens! The appearance of chaos and continued turmoil is NOT a sign that the world is going away, or we are all about to die. Death=Transformation. The same consciousness which is now witnessing the re-organization of Planet Earth was also present at it's birthing. The only thing different is the LENS through which a particular Planetary Process is viewed.
