Family of the Heart, Pt 2A Commentary on the Reconnections Transmission

The Reconnections teach that the heart space in our human body is a mixing and mingling place for both mind and emotion. And in saying this, they're not merely referring to the "heart" as an organ, but to the heart SPACE as a vortex of energy, whose primary focus is compassion, giving and receiving love, and formulating a sense of purpose and belonging in the world.
I have a young friend in London whose heart space is quite expanded. She is, literally, COMPASSION CENTRAL. She weeps with those who weep, and rejoices with those who rejoice. That is her career in life. Of course, she performs other functions as well, but none so focused, and so passionate as her understanding of and resonance with the human heart. I often think of her as a violin string, upon which the anthem of the ages is being played out every single day.
Recently, my friend was walking along the streets of London, where she spied a young homeless man crouched in a doorway. She reached into her pocket and pulled out £10, gave it to him, and asked him how he came to be in this condition. He looked up at her and said: "No one likes me." For the rest of the afternoon, she pondered his statement, weeping off and on. How does it come to this? What are we doing (or failing to do), as a race, that would cause so many of our youth to simply opt out, sleeping in doorways, hiding from a reasonable engagement with mainstream life?
A GLOBAL HEART ATTACK
Following the events of September 11, 2001, The Reconnections sent through an amazing message, which was called "Open-Heart Mergery." In it, they outlined what they believed to be the "primary occlusion" that is blocking a clear flow of energy through the heart space of humankind:"We have named this transmission "Open-Heart Mergery," in a play on words around that surgical procedure which often follows the occurrence of a heart attack in the physical. It is discovered in such cases, that the heart is either dysfunctional in some way, or it has become blocked and cannot perform as required. Therefore, highly trained surgeons cut into the heart space, and with focused effort and skilled hands, they remove the blockage and repair that which was broken.
The primary occlusion, which has been choking the life out of your Global Heart most recently, arises from your intense love of and preoccupation with COMMERCE. When we say this, we are not demeaning your needs to buy and to sell things. Your manifold methods of trade and mutual support have served Earth’s people well since they were enacted, so long ago. But recently, a large portion of humanity has begun to worship Commerce, and the accumulation of material property, in the same way some civilizations have followed after their chosen Deity.
Through the expansion of your many activities and struggles related to this frenetic "worship," you created lifestyles where you could no longer breathe in your spirit or feel within your collective soul. Deprived of love and connection, which is the very lifeblood of humankind, you experienced a momentary lapse in your awareness, and you gave Dark Forces control over key access points upon your planet, plunging a dagger deep into the chest of the World's Economy, peeling back layers of flesh, exposing your deepest fears, and also awakening your noblest and most inspirational traits as a species.
The initiation of this Open-Heart Mergery is the beginning of a Global Reconnection to Oneness---a joining of hands and hearts across your world, that is based, not upon the relentless agendas set by your Taskmasters of Buy and Sell, but by a common human experience of loss, suffering, and the importunity of human need.
The dress rehearsal for this experience you are within now was accomplished back in your year 1997, with the passing of those souls known as Princess Diana and Mother Theresa. As their departure from the Earth Plane was made commonly known, a worldwide ejaculation of emotion formed a neural network for linking your planet empathically, a network which instantly came back online the day your World Trade Center fell."The above transmission was published worldwide (on Spiritweb), February 14, 2002. And yet, over 5 years later, the generalized state of the Collective Consciousness of Earth seems even darker and more callous than it was when those planes hit the towers, back in 2001. We suffered SERIOUS heart damage, then we sewed up our chest, and went right back to doing what we've always done.

~David R. Hawkins, "Power Vs. Force"Meanwhile, in a London doorway, July of 2007, two souls continue the process of Open-Heart Mergery, as foretold by The Guides. Our oneself growth continues, albeit underground. Each of the two wears a "side" of the equation. The young man sits, lost in despair, unable to engage with a social system that is riddled with insensitivity and greed. A young woman stops to listen, weeping at what she KNOWS to be truth. His statement of "no one likes me" carries an even deeper meaning. In essence, he is also declaring to her: "There is no one LIKE me." And that, my friends are the HEART of what this series is about.
A TERRORIST SITUATION
Right after the World Trade Center fell, The Recons wrote a letter of comfort to the world. It was this message which offers us a foundation for understanding both how we got here and how we can recover ourselves before it is too late. Here is a short summary of what they said:"We know that many are hurting, so we will try to be brief while still being as thorough as we can. We grieve with you and with all of those who suffer. In fact, a portion of the Soul Group of the Reconnections has set aside our focus for the purpose of grieving with transitioning souls across time and space.
How can your world know Oneness if you do not share in each other's pain? Yet how can you comprehend pain if you have not experienced it? Now this terror has come upon you. It is an ancient terror, .a terror that lives and moves and consumes innocence every single day, somewhere upon your planet. Today it took a bite out of you, consuming people you see and know, or maybe someone you love.
What is Terrorism? It is idealism that acts without feeling. It is nurturing a daily habit of depersonalization, being driven by some inner focus, right past the faces of humanity that are pressed up against the window of your soul.
It takes tremendous idealism to capture a jetliner, and then crash it into a city building, killing yourself and everyone on board. This is insanity, and no one will dispute that. It is Terrorism.
However, it also takes tremendous idealism for a person of means to brashly spend money on elaborate pleasure boats and cars when there are children racked by disease, starving daily in cities and nations all around him. The mental state of this latter type of person produces what we call a "Terrorist Situation." In order to support and defend your ideology of "I am not my brother's keeper," in all its modern forms, a person must choose to destroy certain neurons in his brain that could connect his consciousness to the cries of despair and serious need that rise up all around him. It is murder by omission, and the person you kill is always yourself."FAMILY TIES
A Family of the Heart is not bound together because of common ancestry, race, geography, or creed. We are drawn together by of a common orientation we hold concerning what it means to be human. We do things for and with each other, not because we have a responsibility, but simply because doing those things is the very core of who we are.In my two series of articles called "The Imagine Nation," and "A Child-Friendly Society," I explore what it might look like if society was organized according to a person's natural flow and desire, rather than our traditional assignment of "relationship/ownership/leadership" protocols, dictating how people must behave and adapt as we grow. The Reconnections have a bit to say about all this as well. In their transmission, entitled "Families of the Heart," they tell us:
"For every implicate order there must also be a voluntary commitment to nourish and support it. Where there is no conscious choice, there is no genuine love. There is only a sense of obligation and heaviness. Though these qualities do provide a rudimentary sense of security and grounding, they often stand directly in the way of a person moving beyond his heritage into a whole new area of achievement and personal realization.
It does take a village to raise a child. And it does take a village to meet the emotional and sociological needs of those who live in society. Humanity is getting to the place where you can no longer pretend otherwise. For example, many there are who show great disdain for connections that are created in cyberspace, where wandering spouses use computer resources to create "affairs" with strangers. This is felt by many to be disgraceful and wrong.
We invite you to consider that such activities may not really be the cause for problems in marriage and family at this time. They are simply revealing problems that have always been there. In a sense, you might think of the Internet as a kind of Global Mind that you have built to explore and connect to your local community and your world. Where the individual mind tends to wander, so will the Internet. It is a reflection, not a cause. And, once the image in the mirror has been seen, how will you bring forgetfulness back to cover it again?"
There are those who believe that we are what we DO. There are others who believe we are what we HAVE. But what if the primary determination of what a person is comes from what it is that he WANTS? What gives him JOY? Would that change the way we live our daily lives? You bet it would.
My lady friend wants to FEEL. And she longs to live in a world where others FEEL, too. When they don't, or can't, she steps forward and FEELS for them. There are millions like her. I know, because I am one of them. I am part of a CHAIN OF FOOLS, as some might call us, who believe that Quality of Life is more important than Quantity at Death. And so it goes.
Next time, I'll talk some about how this all might play out, as humanity moves from LAW to GRACE in our relation to one another. And to our young friend, crouched in that London doorway, I would simply say: “There are more people LIKE YOU than you might imagine! Hang on, Buddy. Objects soon to be seen in your mirror are closer than they appear.”
