May-June, 2005
This is a fun little ditty that came in e-mail. I hate to jump on the Bush Bashing Train, but I Loved it. I also loved Jon Stewart's Book on "America." Very smart, and very on-point--as is his "Daily Show" on Comedy Central. If you haven't seen it, don't miss it! Howard Dean said the other day that the IMPLICATIONS that are sent out from the show, through its tongue-in-cheek comedic style, could be the clearest and most sane "news" that is now being allowed to circulate in this country.
We're still at the laughing stage on all of this.....but methinks that, when the laughing stops, the intensity will surely begin. The "other side" of the American Oneself is beginning to awaken and be heard. Even 9-11 could not invoke her opposition, completely. I use the expression "her" because I sense that this aspect is a very feeling self, as opposed to the non-emotional mega-masculine beast that is now influencing the country. She is an aspect that would embrace all Americans (as a Mother Self would) and make sure they feel part of the same FAMILIAL BODY. When She begins to speak........and the shift happens......some great imbalances will be healed, not only in America......but all around the world.
In a sense, the freedom marches and "No War In Iraq" demonstrations that occurred in March, 2003, were not just support for the people and country of Iraq. They were also an outcry from all the people of the world, who sensed that the America they have always admired was about to depart. In some people's eyes, we will always be "Ugly Americans." And we can be like pigs when we're traveling abroad. But they learned to put up with that because our presence there meant a huge upsurge for their economy, and that was a plus for them. But when they saw us poised to surge forward, with an obvious imperialist mindset flying from our masthead--speaking words about searching for "Weapons of Mass Destruction," their spirits cried out to us: "Don't do this TO YOURSELF!" Don't throw away the America that the world so desperately needs!"
And now, we have a deposed dictator, sitting in prison.........saying: "I am still the President of Iraq." He's pointing a bony finger at George W. Bush, saying: "THERE is the War Criminal!" (In truth, everything is a mirror) And what can the world do? We are, presently, the most powerful nation on Earth. But if we keep up the way we're going, military might is all that we will have. The nation, I mean. Certain private citizens are benefiting, big time, from this fiasco. The rest of us are watching as our middle class and big parts of our country slowly go bankrupt. In fact, there are some who believe that this is already the case.
I feel very Multiversal about all this. Things are what they are, and people will do what they do. Those who are spiritually alive and awake will continue to hold the tone for Oneness...........and for integration of this Shadow Self...........be it poor people, or "robber barons" who care nothing for America, but are drinking deeply from American Resources.
And yes......there are "good guys" in both camps. Blues are not white hats, while Reds wear black. Both sides have something to offer the other......and, as I said earlier, that Synergy........THE COLOR PURPLE, as was suggested by Barak Obama......is beginning to awaken, just before our blessed "Ameri-tanic" hits an iceberg. Will we be able to turn our ship in time?
The Big Guy upstairs........who so many claim to worship........just may have some feelings on the subject. And the billboard above (which is another variation on the Billboards from God that have passed through our e-mail boxes over the years).........sent me reeling with laughter.
Yes, it's time. Let us awake! It's not about ONE GUY, or even politics, really. It's about BEING ASLEEP, being unheard. Let the Color Purple..........A VIOLET FLAME....... purge America from the blinders we have had over our eyes, on both sides. Otherwise, the Gates of Heaven that we have always symbolized to a hungry world, may very well close forever. And then, my friends, there will be weeping and wailing heard around the world.

There is a powerful radio pulse coming from the galactic center. Each pulse lasts 10 minutes and repeats every 77 minutes. Interesting, Yes? http://www.newscientist.com/channel/space/mg18524896.300

May 31: This is the month that we ended a 28 year Mythological Cycle, called "Star Wars." George Lucas was a good friend of Joseph Campbell ("The Power of Myth"). One day, they were talking.......and Campbell said to Lucas: "This era in which we live has no mythology of it's own. Other eras have their myth, but we do not." Thus began the Era of Star Wars, our very own myth for today. It was a similar motive that caused J.R.R. Tolkein to write "Lord of the Rings," only he was doing that service for Britain.
Though there is talk of a TV Show in days to come, I felt as though I had to complete this cycle before I allowed any more in. The movie was adequate for the purpose, good in some spots, and it also continues to perpetuate the CGI frenzy that George Lucas has been on since Episode One. I am looking for more depth in the writing, more facts about "The Force," and more impetus for growth. However............you know what? I can also provide those things for myself. I've had enough time with Obi-Wan to go on myself, if I need to do so.
I remember a conversation I had with my younger son one day, one of the rare times we ever had a full-blown argument. He was going on about something I didn't do for him as a parent, and I responded: "I will admit that I can't always give you what you need or want. I can only give you what I have." I must give Papa Lucas the same slack. He gave us what he had, all these years, and it has amounted to a helluva lot. He deserves all the praise that he has gotten, since 1977.
The message about integrating "The Dark Side" into our life itinerary is big here. And it comes at exactly the right time. That which is in the "dark".........that which is hidden from us, especially the things about ourselves, are now starting to come to light. Many are hungering, wildly, for someone to pin this dark stuff on. We want it to be THERE instead of HERE.
In regards to the use of "The Force," what would "The Dark Side" be? The Recons tell me that it amounts to administrating the use of our "powers" from the Ego, rather than the Oneself Energy of All That Is. In the movie, Anakin describes the Jedi as being "selfless"..........only using their powers for good. Emperor Palpatine looks down his nose at that description, and says: "Are they?"
When he finally makes his move into the SITH Fellowship, Anakin tells himself that he is doing it to protect Padme and the Baby. (I won't reveal more about the plot, in case you haven't seen it yet). IS HE doing it for her and the baby? At one point he also confesses that: "I can't live without her." Ah, well............who are we protecting then?
The "Light" use of Oneself Power is a kind of OPEN-ENDED SPIRITUALITY which draws its direction and path from ALL THAT IS.......whatever Agenda fits both who we are (personally), along with what fits those around us as well. It's an exact parallel with John Nash's Prize-Winner Formula that was spoken about in the movie "A Beautiful Mind." Instead of adopting the old social philosophy of "every man for himself," which seems to support our current capitalist economy, he theorized a concept of "every man doing what is good, both for himself and for the group." My integrating those two ideas, everything about the system began to change.
Herein is the key to the (temporary) downfall of the Jedi. They aim for being "selfless," which eliminates a very relevant component to any picture. Anakin, who was supposed to be "The Chosen One," is not impressed. He wanted (no, he NEEDED) to know the relationship of the Jedi to the outcomes they sought. When Palpatine suggested that their motives were covertly selfish ("They want to take over control of the Republic").......Anakin readily bought it. After all, who among us is REALLY "selfless" anyway?
The "Dark" use of Oneself Power is CLOSED-ENDED. It focuses the Ego into a set "goal," and then uses force to conform those people and things around them to an individual WILL. There is no dealing with resistance or opposition to the goal. All opposition must be smashed, in favor of attaining that (pre-determined) goal. It is this usage that turns off those who are awakening in spirituality at this time. Who knows what we will want tomorrow? Who even knows what we'll be like 2 hours from now?
Arguing for freedom is a powerful thing. But freedom also implies responsibility, doesn't it? What does the Old Religion say? "Harm no one, do what thou wilt." It includes a confession of what you want (personally), but it also takes into account the cost that will be paid by those around us.
We could go on and on about this. It's big. It has implications on family values, societal structure, leadership, rebellion, and a whole host of other topics. For now, it's just nice to see the WHOLE STORY.........although it was played out in a curious way. You begin in the middle, and then you work your way forward, then backward from there. But it worked. It worked BIG TIME. --DJ.
May the Force be with us all!

Ah, kitties........I do miss mine! And yet, I don't miss the cleaning up, that's for sure. What would we call that, sour grapes? "One less bell to answer. One less egg to fry.............." ? Perhaps. I just know that now is not the time to re-populate the pet space. I sense Ziggy frequently around the house. He may have left the premises physically, but his spirit lingers. My older son has always been the "memory" of our family. Being developmentally "special," his focus of attention and priorities are very different than those belonging to Joe or myself. Jeffrey grieves ANY passing, of ANYTHING, anywhere! He is a dear heart, but sometimes he has gone a bit far in his 31 years. This year (2005) marks the 20 year passing of his Mom, with whom he was very close. He sailed right through it, with a noticeable amount of sadness and tears, but not a huge depression. I found that to be awesome. He's hurt a lot over these last 20 years. We've all felt those feelings, in our own way. Maybe our memories and times of grief are our form of drilling through the Veil of Forgetfulness, only to find the object(s) of our affection and sadness never went very far away. In any event, this picture is certainly a travel poster for more trips to kitty-land!
