Primal Mind
A Descent into the Underworld
Some musings about.......Primal Mind.
In our modern way of thinking, the very words "Primal Mind" seem to be an oxymoron. After all, in the "primal" state, we operate from reflexes and instinct, don't we? Not usually by deliberation. We are visceral, and we seem to be abhorrent of thought, or at least LOGICAL thought.
The very concept of "descending into the abyss," brings with it the idea that a person is going DOWN into a place (or a state) that he has never known, to meet God only knows what. In the physical world, this concept is scary, and it is possible to indulge in it, mainly because the physical world is a kind of REFLEX NERVE SYSTEM that mocks the infinite potentialities of the Multiverse. In the physical, we are allowed to FOOL OURSELVES into thinking that we can go DOWN into a "Primal Self" that is unknown to us, into a place which the mind has not visited and cannot comprehend.
Metaphysically, however, it is IMPOSSIBLE for an entity to even deal with the concept of DOWN without first admitting that he exists, in a state that is fully known and comprehensible, at the furthest level DOWN that could ever be. In that environment, the idea of "going down," relative to where you are now (but not knowing how far "down" you could actually go) just doesn't happen. The same is true of the concept of UP. In order to metaphysically look UP, you must admit that you exist (all the way) up there, and that you are intimately aware of all the "details" that BEING UP THERE involves. Otherwise, your consciousness could not anchor to a context of UP and DOWN at all. There is no "relatively up or down" in space. (that's why no one can hear you scream!) LOL! You're either ALL THE WAY UP and ALL THE WAY DOWN, or you have to settle with living in a FLAT instead of the high-rise.(which would mean that you are within another tangible, albeit less dense, universe)
A reflex is simply a process that has been worked out, genetically or experientially, from a previously DELIBERATED SYSTEM OF REACTION that is/was fully comprehendable during the first time it was ever needed. From then on, it became a "protocol," which can be used and re-used "in the dark," so to speak. The nerves don't have to go all the way back to the brain in order to cause movement. They have a "way-station" that is closer to direct them. But ORIGINALLY..............during the first journey..........all reflexes were deliberated, and thought out. They are all birthed, consciously and individually.
This takes us back to our discussion about whether or not it is possible for a person to take his or her mind along when going on a journey into the DEEP. The mind is always there. Whether we choose to use it or not is up to us. We may even come up with scientific data to PROVE that it cannot exist. A human can say......."My mind is not down here with me now," or "I am out of my mind," but it is illusion. The very fact that he has to say it, is proof that it exists within him. It is as illusory to believe in its absence as it is for God to portray that heaven can exist without shadows. It is the core of separationist dogma. Dogma Doo-Doo, if you will.
It is a Game. A Dance. Nothing more, but surely nothing less either.
One has only to examine Dante Aligieri's descent into the INFERNO to see the workings of mind in the nether regions. Though his writings were probably "snapshots" that were downloaded (by the mind) at some later point, and formed into verse---the original CONNECTION with up/down, good/evil, and all other involved polarities became predicated on the realization that DAN-te, himself, is not just the holder of the spade, but also he is the deepest part of the hole as well. His mind had to be there, though operating at a much different SPEED (like the shutter of a camera) than it would be working here in physical space.
As the shovel goes deeper and deeper into the Earth, the quality and depth of darkness expands to go with it. With every shovelful that comes topside, there is a VOID that forms down below to correspond with it. For every magical "trick" that is let out of the bag, another forms to take it's place---even more mystical, and more diabolical than the insight that was just uncovered. A huge supply, which we (humans) have not even begun to tap!
