I was thinking the other day about this current economic climate we're in.  I found myself scratching my head and saying:  "This whole story (as presented) doesn't make sense.  We have plenty of people, we have needs for goods and services, we have products, and we have a will to do business. What we don't have is MONEY to keep the wheels of commerce rolling.  SOMEBODY has snatched it all up. The Government is busy printing money with little or nothing to back it.  The Chinese hold onto our bonds, mainly because the amount of export business we represent plays a huge role in holding up their own economy.

I think back on troubles we've been having with Wall Street, the Mortgage Debacle, and Banks failing all over the place.  Moneylenders don't want to lend, and businesses can't keep going without cash flow.  As huge sections of society fall, I can feel EYES....watching with interest......as it all goes down.  Society crumbles, and certain "Money People" are walking among the rubble---cherry-picking whatever leftovers they wish to buy..........(at rock bottom prices, of course!)  I was even listening to someone on National Public Radio the other day, suggesting that the way to stimulate investors to buy up all these "toxic properties" is to have the Government commit to requiring no Capital Gains Tax when these properties are sold.

Isn't that a sweet deal?  We create a "panic" by crashing the markets, we watch all these businesses fail, and then calmly gather up everything we care to own (or sell later, at a huge profit), paying no Capital Gains Tax when we sell.  The whole thing wreaks of the movie "Zeitgeist," does it not?  Those of you who regularly read my work already know my feelings on Conspiracy Theory, Shadow Dancing, and the Global Blame Game.

From a Reconnected Viewpoint.........What one of us creates, we ALL are creating. What one of us omits, we are ALL omitting---at some level of our Collective Consciousness. The fact that some of us embody certain characteristics which others do not is inconsequential. The fact remains......this whole business (top to bottom, bottom to top) is our Collective Creation.  Currently, that Viewpoint is very difficult to sustain....and we frequently slip back into an "us/them" mentality. This is exactly what our Legislature has done in the United States, as we hash out our "Stimulus" plan to fend off economic collapse.

Following a fine keynote speech about UNITY and COOPERATION, set forth by our new President---both "reds" and "blues" have taken up their charges again---railing accusations and creating blockages, right and left.

POLITICS AS USUAL

Anytime we try to solve problems in the world OUTSIDE without going INSIDE---owning our personal reflection in each matter---we end up falling short.  That is why politics alone will never save the day.  The temptation to PROJECT SHADOW on each other---either inside or outside of our national boundaries---is too high. What seems like "profitable activity" in the short run will ALWAYS become an "energy drain" in the long run if our focus moves from "It's All Me" to "THEY are responsible for this. Let's attack (or oust) THEM."  Such things inevitably drag humanity back to the Middle Ages, where all feels like romance, but very little gets handled or understood.

Barack Obama has become wildly popular, during this time in history, because he is adept at verbalizing the true state of our world today---in language and emotion that resonates deeply with the souls of those who are living on a Transformation Track. That is to say:  those who are looking to evolve beyond the mere acquisition of possessions and personal power, at the expense of Global Collaboration, Respect, and Love.

BAILOUTS AND STIMULUS

The Previous U.S. Administration, who began Bailouts of Banks and Money Managers (working from the "top" down) is coming face to face with a New Administration, whose vision inclines itself towards Societal Stimulus working from the "bottom" up.  Of course, neither approach will ultimately work......because the polarization of "us/them" has now been transposed to become a polarization of "top and bottom."  One Conservative Cartoonist put it this way:  "I'll keep my money, my freedom, and my guns. YOU keep the "CHANGE."  Clearly, this is a man who is satisfied with how the "distribution of wealth" that has gone down in his world.  What he is failing to notice, however, is the fact that PEOPLE ARE DYING all around him (Aspects of Himself).......and their death rattle is NOT going to be paradise for him, by any measure.

Even at this (so called) "crucial" time in our nation's history.....we have "reds" and "blues" enjoying the LUXURY of philosophical filibusters and diatribes, which makes them very similar to Wall Street CEO's, who enjoy the LUXURY of bonuses, vacations, and office redecorations at the expense of American Taxpayers. And by the way, it seems that Tax Payers are on their way to becoming a dying breed.  With more and more Executives and Corporate Interests skimming "cream" off the top of our financial system (bailouts and tax breaks)---and more and more Average Joes walking the streets on unemployment---one might wonder who will be left to pay taxes in days to come.

This is NOT what President Obama has called us to embody.  And it is NOT what Spirit requires of us as we expand into the New Paradigm of Universal Oneness and Multi-D, also referred to as "the One and the Many."  Those who lapse back into polarization mode are doing service to those of us who continue to the hold the tone for the Awakening Planetary Oneself.  The MANY always exist to edify and reflect the ONE.  And, at whatever level the Oneself is observed, it can be personalized and renewed by those who passionately wish to sustain it.

OH, BAMA!!!

Our New President's challenge is to maintain enough rapport with his Liberal Base to fulfill the basic mandate for which he was elected (Help for the Middle Class) while integrating enough Conservative thinking to keep that vision from going too far left.

I have attempted to clearly verbalize, in my "Witness to the Fire" series, that EXTREMISM begets EXTREMISM.  We can see this stirring  now, as Democrats (now in majority) scramble to load up their "Stimulus Package" with Social Service Programs----all of them worthy and humanitarian, but many of them NOT really qualifying as true "Economic Stimulus."  This gives Republicans a chance to question the integrity of the New Administration, and continue fueling fires of opposition against a Welfare State.  In this current economic climate, talking that way truly seems ludicrous. There is much that must be done to help needy Americans get back on their feet.  We simply need to be UP FRONT about what we're doing and why.

It's been my observation that the Republican Party THRIVES on polarization, while Democratic Influence FADES when partisan contentiousness goes on for any length of time. Neither Harry Reid nor Nancy Pelosi seem to be in touch with this yet. If they don't get on board with Obama soon, they could easily be gearing our country up for a Republican Resurgence in 2010.

"It's time to stop mass-debating, and give birth to a healthy brainchild."

~ Swami Beyondananda

Having verbalized these concerns, there ARE a few things that can be said about the Stimulus Package as it stands now.  Whatever is given directly to the disadvantaged in society almost always immediately goes back into the economy. Those in NEED will SPEND what is given to them.  So the Democratic argument has some merit, but only in the short run.  And only if the bulk of this Stimulus Package is spent QUICKLY, which it may not be. The "haves" in our society are quick to point out:  "Give a man a fish and you feed him for one day. TEACH a man to fish, and you feed him for many days. Help him open his own Cannery, and he begins feeding us all."  Does humanitarian spending ultimately create jobs?  Only if those who get help use that momentum to find or develop an ongoing means of personal support. And only if chances for "meaningful labor" actually exist for them to occupy.

Those who are NOT in immediate personal need (Corporate Interests, Investors, Bankers) are also campaigning for "welfare" aren't they?  After all, that's what a "Bailout" is: Corporate Welfare. SOCIALISM.  But when Tax Payer Money is given to Money People, it doesn't always go right back into the economy.  Nor is it necessarily spent on increasing American Jobs or helping displaced people stay in their homes. We've just watched this happen with Bailout monies that were given out last Fall.

America has just completed eight years of Tax Cuts and radical Corporate Advantage.  What has it gotten us?  An Economic AVALANCHE, a FINANCIAL ABYSS...... even as American Jobs and Manufacturing Centers are moved out of the U.S., to countries who charge less for Business Overhead, and provide workers who work longer hours for less pay.  And if, for some reason, we can't get "cheap labor" to assist our business overseas, we allow in hordes of Illegal Immigrants to work for less pay right here in America.

SHADOW CHALLENGE: USA

The clear answer to ideological polarization is for each "side" of an argument to set aside time to utilize ALL THEIR POWERS, ALL THEIR WILES to try and argue the "other side" of each issue. We all need to clear ourselves of bias if we are to approach each challenge with an open heart.  President Obama has initiated this by designing his cabinet to be a "Team of Rivals."  As this Administration progresses, each of us who watch.........holding tightly to a tone of Oneself Planetary Awakening........can set aside time to de-polarize our own thinking, through Creative Shadow Work......assisting those around us to do the same.

It was Thomas Jefferson who once said:

"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around [the banks] will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. The issuing power should be taken from the banks and restored to the people, to whom it properly belongs."

It's a good quote, but once again.........it casts shadows on bankers, leaving the rest of us as victims.  That's not Oneness.  If POWER is restored to the "people"........then RESPONSIBILITY must be restored to the people as well.  The fact is:  Our Government DOES run on the "bottom line" today.  We are a nation ruled by MONEY and INFLUENCE, not Laws or Organizing Principles.  If matters of ecology or individual fairness get in the way of Commerce, or the Socially Advantaged, our Constitution can be and has been completely overlooked.

What does this have to do with YOU and ME?  It's very simple.  In each of our Perceived Universes, we CREATED this dynamic to be the ruling factor.  How much of OUR OWN LIVES is being taken up by "the bottom line?"  How does the saying go?  "I owe. I owe. So off to work I go."

Do you spend your days doing the thing or things you most love?  Or do you head off to work all day, at a job you hate, in order to sustain something called "financial security?"  Do you feel drained when you get home at night?  If you can honestly say "yes" to that first question......if you are truly FREE to live as you choose----can you look around and see a mass of people whose lives are still chained to the "bottom line?"  Your own "success" is but a fraction of the picture.  Go deeper, and you'll still see the need for CHANGE at many levels. There are no "winners" and "losers" in this game.  We're all in it together, regardless of personal worth or experience.

CHOOSING ONENESS AS AN IDEOLOGY

Each of us, INDIVIDUALLY, in a manner that seems appropriate and workable......has the CHOICE to shift our allegiance from the "bottom line" to living lives of spontaneity, joy, love, and connection with others. Where once we thought we "had no time" to share our gifts and joy.....we can TAKE time, here and there, to give to those who need what we offer.  In the Spiritual Gifts Material, the Reconnections challenge us to find and develop those Motivational Gifts (Charismaton) which give us JOY and fill us with a sense of compassion for and Oneness with our fellows in 3D Life. And the primary criteria for finding these gifts is asking ourselves the question:  "What is it I would freely give or do for others, whether or not I got paid?"

Have you found your Spiritual Gift(s) yet?  Are you currently pouring time and attention into that activity---that your joy may overflow, and your fellow human might be strengthened?

The need for Commerce is still upon us.  We are not Socialists, nor would we be any happier if that were the case. Turning the State into our "Have" and turning all others into a "Have Not" is just another political system.  The opportunity for Extremism is still there, as we clearly saw with the Soviet Union. Now THEY are talking Capitalism, even as our Government is Nationalizing Banks, and considering doing the same with Health Care.

But Capitalism is not really Capitalism if tax money gets unethically siphoned off by a privileged few---leaving huge numbers of people without a chance to eat, obtain adequate Health Care, be properly educated, or develop their innate skills (the greatest national resource we have).  The argument FOR Capitalism involves an incredible surge of national creativity that comes from FAIR COMPETITION, by all players, as we each strive to design and produce the next great "widget" that will change humanity forever!

But in a corrupt Capitalist System, only a few "widgets" get to the production stage (because those in power manipulate the system so fair competition gets stifled). Politicians hunger for hand-outs, before they'll do what they were elected to do.......and those "widgets" that actually make it to market remain so expensive that only a few can afford them.

Are we beginning to get the picture here?  There is a saying in the Addictions Treatment Field that goes:  "Too much is never enough."  This applies, not only to substance abuse and the physical body, but also to abuses involving MONEY, POWER, and GLOBAL COMMUNITY.  The only way to sustain JOY is to keep it moving.  Hording goods and resources stagnates our pool. Beyond a few "basics" for human survival and comfort---hanging onto excessive possessions and power mongering puts our soul in danger of counting what we own as the sole determiner of happiness.  And it is in THAT moment that "too much is never enough" becomes an emotional reality.

The current Economic De-Stabilization we're experiencing, WORLDWIDE, is affording everyone a chance to examine and reconsider PERSONAL VALUES.  What type of life have we been CHOOSING to live?  Who are we?  Who have we become, in relationship to each other? And where do we wish to go as a Oneself Planetary Being?  All of that lies before us now. The world is our mirror........our CANVAS.......where thoughts, feelings, and secret desires provide a diverse palette of colors and hues......where awe-inspiring pictures can and do appear.....where beautiful music (or raucous cacophony) can either uplift or repress the soul......as we each decree it to be so.

More to come on all this. All in due time.  I am deeply appreciative of your comments, questions, and contributions as this work goes forward!  Onward and Inward.
